Heads up: New Michigan form RI-060

State of Michigan has issued a new form RI-060 for handgun transfers/sales
The old forms will still be accepted for the time being

Here is a link to the new form
It's dated 09/2019, but they just released it a few days ago

    https://search.michigan.gov/AppBuild...x=MSP&q=ri-060

They will not be printing those old three part carbon copy forms. You will have to use the one shown above.

The FFL Number box only allows the "abbreviated" version of our FFL numbers. I've been called by the LCSO to provide my FULL FFL Number because I used the abbreviated version on the current form. Weird.

EDIT: THAT FFL box (at the top) is for the FFL of the BUYER if the buyer happens to be an FFL.

The FFL number box @ the bottom for the selling FFL says "Last 9 Digits". Weird, too.

Yep, I've been called by departments too. This will be fun

I don't have MSN OFFICE so I can't open it.
Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

I just tried that, it is all scrambled up.

I am not going to mess around trying to find the right file translator for this, it needs to be issued in a file format that can be read without supporting MS.

    I use LibraOffice.
Related to OpenOffice, but more up to date.

I have Open Office, Works but no MS word so I sent the form to wordpad to open it then saved it in documents. Didn't know how to use OO to open / decipher the new r1-60 and teh xlm or whatever does not work.

Printing it took 2.5 pages though!

'Progress' can be hard to keep up with
