Backstory: Recently ordered and received through a local FFL a POF USA Revolution 12.5” barrel. The rifle came with a vertical foreground and an arm brace from Buds Gun Shop. The paperwork I filled out was the typical papers I fill out for rifles.
Confusion: on POF website, this firearm is labeled as a pistol. Confused as to why my paperwork wasn’t representative of pistol specific transfer papers, I started researching what defines an AR pistol in 2020 and found myself spinning onto an abyss of overall lengths, where to measure from, whether or not vertical grips are legal , etc.
Now I have no idea what I even own by legal definition. Did the FFL Receiving and transferring this firearm make a mistake and use incorrect papers? Am I liable for doing the ATF paperwork and paying tax stamp?
Any guidance would be much appreciated !!
