Are you looking for the take down pin style? If you're using it for hand guard and barrel install, I'm not sure I would trust a 3d printed one.

If you're looking at using it for upper storage, may be a great idea.

I like to remove the upper when I clean the barrel/chamber. Why do you think a 3D wouldn't be strong enough for the jobs you listed?

Barrel nut torque is 30-80 lb/ft, and to get enough resin to hold that kind of torque it would cost less to buy a chunk of aluminum and have one machined. the resins used in 3d printing are O.K. at some things, but holding torque like that has not been one I have witnessed.

For cleaning or storage, it would work fine.

Is what you are looking for the same as what is on these pages:

    https://www.stlfinder.com/3dmodels/a...er-vice-block/

    https://www.yeggi.com/q/ar15+vise+block/

If so pick one and see if someone here with a 3D printer can print it.

I've never printed one, but I have the clamshell type already.
    Which one are you wanting?

Thanks for all the info. I think I'll just invest in an aluminum one.

For cleaning, kinda hard to get a rod or cable though, but can be nice for building.

Though in one of the AR15 groups did see a broken one from trying to remove a barrel nut installed with rockset without soaking it first.
