I like to remove the upper when I clean the barrel/chamber. Why do you think a 3D wouldn't be strong enough for the jobs you listed?
Barrel nut torque is 30-80 lb/ft, and to get enough resin to hold that kind of torque it would cost less to buy a chunk of aluminum and have one machined. the resins used in 3d printing are O.K. at some things, but holding torque like that has not been one I have witnessed.
For cleaning or storage, it would work fine.
