I am back to reloading 9mm & 45acp -- it's to pricey to not do that.. but I have a few k of commercial range 9mm & 45acp .. can't see myself selling but if I did, I would put it up for auction - it's worth whatever someone will pay for it. Highest bid/Last PM by a certain time - get's the product. That is capitalism. Just a thought, can you auction on MGO - is it a dis-allowed practice?

Far be if from me to tell you what you can afford. I sold some ammo to the OP. I am pretty sure he was happy with the deal. I got the price I asked, he paid the price he was willing. Great guy to talk to, do business with. But I have to admit I don't think it's gouging when you ask replacement pricing, except if you are selling it, seems you must not need to replace it a higher price - if you do, why would you sell it. Hence auction to me makes sense to move unwanted items in high demand.

MGO requires a price, no auctions allowed.

Not everyone has been doing it. I've been able to get ammo from Sportsman Guide and Natchez for very reasonable prices given everything currently going on. I've actually seen ammo at my local shop a few time, Cabelas/Bass Pro online for reasonable prices as well (it disappears quickly, but it IS there). And the few times I've been able to get ammo in for sale, I've let it go for what I consider to be "reasonable" prices, i.e. $300ish per 1000. So, it's not going on everywhere.

Take note of the places that are price gouging people and the places that aren't and when things settle down, you'll know who not to do business with any longer: I used to buy from Outdoor Limited a lot, they screwed me on a case of 1000 rounds several months back that they never shipped and made me file a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back, now they're asking $800 for a box of the stuff. I'm sure as heck not supporting them anymore. You vote with your $, do it wisely.

To everyone who are saying the law of supply and demand allows you to charge 3 to 4 times the original price I ask you will you complain if the hurricane hits and knocks out the refineries and the price of gas goes to $4 or up per gallon. Or if the drug manufacturers start to charge 3 or 4 times for drugs (ie.epi-pen manufacture raising price to $900 per pen). Now I'm not against making a profit, but in a civilize society to take advantage of people in need by high prices is not good. In a previous post it was stated that if someone who never owned a gun before it's too bad if they're taken advantage. Now I want them to have a good experience as a gun owner so they will be new 2nd amendment supporter, sure make a profit but don't gouge. As state earlier if you don't want to sell for less then what you'll have to pay to replace don't sell in the first place.

You are correct I hold, especially now. If a close friend kindly asks because they can't find anything else I will sell. I do explain to them that I cannot sell 4 less than the current going price. If they want to pay that to me that's their prerogative. If they don't want to pay what I say is the price they are welcome to continue looking for it elsewhere, but essentially you are right. I don't sell ammo in this type of climate it's stupid

What do you consider to be a fair price? Say I bought some M855 for $0.30 per round. Is selling it for $0.60 per round OK?

What is the original price? Are you using 2018 as a baseline? Late 2019? There is a shortage of components, limited production capacity and crazy demand. If the average market price for 9mm is $0.50/rd and people want to try and sell for $1.5/rd - $2/rd using your 3-4x example more power to them but I don't think they are going to sell very much. If they try to get $0.60/rd that is a 20% markup and depending on the buyers specific circumstances if may be worth it to buy at that price instead of hunting for 'deals' online and paying shipping/tax.
