Grandpa dropped off 2 more 22 rifles, help me with value

Both rifles are single shot, bolt action. Both shoot 22 short, long or long rifle. Both rifles are in decent shape. Nicks and dings on the stocks, bluing looks good.

Wiped both of them down, ran a bore snake down the barrel and went out and shot some 22 shorts. Both guns are really accurate. Hitting a pop can at 50 yards off hand with ease

    1. Cooey model 39 bolt action. short , long and long rifle. Single shot

    2. Winchester model 47 bolt action. short, long and long rifle. Single shot

both have standard sights. no peep sights or anything special

What are they worth? He just comes over and says "found these in the safe, i think your boys will like them" (my boys are 2 and 3 years old)

Let me know what i have. Are they worth anything? collectors or shooters?

A big part of the value may come when your boys are a little older, knowing that the guns they learned to shoot with came from Grandpa.

I agree - keep them for the boys. Neither is highly valuable. The boys shooting one of grand dad's rifles, well what can you say.

The Cooley is maybe 75-125$ depending on condition. The Model 47 Winchester is worth more. If it's in great condition...

Here is a 47 sale you can compare condition with:

I'd keep both for the kids. Shorten the buttstock on the Cooey, and start them on that.

These are perfect "starter" rifles for the grand kids, that's truly where the value lies without a doubt!

My grandpa gifted me a Stevens falling-block 22, which is a priceless heirloom to me.

Cooey's are great for bear hunting. Especially with .22 longs! https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/be...ar-cold-front/

    Do not discount that Cooey!

I had one when I was young and recently found a replacement. Scoped it and benched it. It will group wolf match target under a half inch at 50 yards.

Excellent rifle to teach youngsters with the manual cocking bolt. Hang on to that one!

    Crankster
