This thread makes me sad. "Make them pay up"? What kind of community is this???
No, I'm not a socialist. I also fully understand supply and demand. I am a business owner as well and understand how things work. If you want to be one of these morons selling 9 mil for $2 a round go right ahead.
Best to sell it cheap so the buyer can turn around and double his money selling it. Then, at least, you won't be a moron. LOL
If you are better off than you were 4 years ago....................you are probably an ILLEGAL INVADER.
But it's not fair! YOU bought that AR for $500 a year ago. Even though that same rifle is now selling for for $900 used, it's not fair for you to sell it to me for $650!
But I do have a slightly used Bersa Thunder I'll trade you even up....
During one of the previous AR ban panics I sold all my AR's for a mild profit, then picked up a couple of classic S&W revolvers (29, 586) and a Belgian Browning Hi-Power. The revolvers were about $300/ea, the Hi-Power set me back $400.
I was recently offered $1k for the 29, and a similar price for the Hi-Power. Part of me regrets not selling them... but I love 'em.
If the market is willing to pay a price, the price is fair.
A friend is selling an original and immaculate '83 Monte Carlo SS with 156 miles. He bought the car for $10k originally, current bid is over $20K.
By prevailing logic, apparently he's a jerk for selling it for more than the original price. I mean, it IS used, and old.... should only be maybe $2500, right?
Life is too serious to take too seriously.
