If i were you i would not take any kind of weapon with me if i had to go to that state
Been there many times! Don’t take anything into NYC for sure! Rifles that are not considered evil assault weapons, and shotguns are fine elsewhere. No handguns at all without a NY pistol permit! If driving through the state and not stopping for more than lunch or gas, ok as well, but don’t stay there with a handgun or suppressor!
Not a Laywer..blah blah....
The fastest way to drive to New York State from Michigan is to cut across Canada.
Stop right there! There is no way to reasonably accomplish that.
Then, if you do take the long way around, the Federal law that SHOULD protect you requires that your possession is legal at both your starting point AND your DESTINATION.
If your destination IS New York, there are no protections for possession if it is against State tyranny.

I like taking my baseball gear with me.
Unless you have about 25k and a good NYC lawyer. Leave the lead carrier, and keep your head on a swivel. NYC Hates people who want to protect themselves, that are not and elitist.
