Purchase Permit in Genesee County

Hello, just found this website/forum and glad I did!

I purchased a handgun yesterday and the FFL dealer mentioned that I could drop off the permit via dropbox at the Genesee Co. Sheriff's Office (as we live in area w/ no local PD). I found a post on this forum from 2016 with the same issue and that person was directed to mail the permit into the Sheriff's office. I know a lot can change in four years and I'm not sure if my FFL dealer was being extra cautious due to the slow-moving nature of our current USPS system (or COVID) but I'd like to avoid a trip downtown if possible. Are we still permitted mail in the permit c/o Records Division?

Yes, you can still mail it to them as well as use the drop box.
