You can't really gouge on ebay. You set a price and the winning bidder pays what the market says at that point.
As for the mags... sure it seems like a high price, on the assumption that it was a single mag... but every now and again there are some people who voluntarily pay a high premium for a private transaction without any kind of tracking. Those guys always make me nervous, but it's not my problem.

I'm guessing that the days of our being able to own anything but a bolt action or a revolver are about done. Biden says he plans on banning pretty much everything I own. I might be able to keep the 5 rounder for the M1A and the mag for the P-22. Everything else is on the list.

Yes there is. Your FFL has to keep records for 20 years. The .gov can't keep a registry themselves, so they made the license holders do it.

If they get the NICS operators ID number it’s significantly shorter. 7 years I believe. When I worked at an FFL it was shop policy to get this ID on every check to reduce paperwork storage. The store still had PALLETS of completed 4473’s in storage.
