    The last time I saw them inexpensive was around 1978 , but then , they were still making them and gasoline was what seventy cents a gallon ? Collectors help drive the market , perhaps a Henry is what you would like . The owners I know love them .... though if you offered them the weight of the rifle in gold you might get it away from them

    I was just born, in 78, what was a .35 or 30-30 marlin 336 in 1978 ?

    All of them , Back then K-Mart would get rifles from Marlin and I can remember they would have a sale on the .357 carbines . I bought one once for $125 and tax , they would have sales on the 336 model as well .
