How about a close up of how you mounted your DOT?

I don't have a close-up picture of that handy, but it's just a Vortex Crossfire red dot mounted on a Weaver base.

The rear sight is an XS ghost ring aperture which is threaded to accept a smaller aperture insert for finer aiming (the insert and the front sight are actually Skinner brand; long story). I've only hunted with irons on this rifle in the past, but I wanted to try out the red dot this year. Unfortunately it doesn't co-witness with the irons because the dot is too high, and I think I might go back to just irons next year.
