On one hand it seems silly to limit rifle use to certain calibers in certain areas. On the other hand, using hi-power cartridges in highly populated rural areas seems counterintuitive. One would think the rules should be more restrictive what with losing more and more habitat in southern MI every year.

Then you have the muzzle loading season which has morphed into a limited rifle season in zone 3 but not in other zones. It kind of loses the reason for muzzle loading season if you are going to allow center fire rifles. And why just zone 3 and not other places? Why an early antlerless season or a late one? Why a late archery season, why allow crossbows? Why do they do allow or restrict anything at all? Why ask why?
