    Filter Aluminum Solvent Trap silencer.

I see adds for Filter Aluminum Solvent Trap that all You need is dill a hole in the end cap to make it a silencer.

You can get one for $30 to $50. How hard and costly is it to make it a legal silencer?

$200 tax stamp. Passport photos, 2 fingerprint cards, and time. Be careful though because the ATF doesn't really like the solvent traps that are very close to being a suppressor.

    Thanks for the info Buffman.

Is there a lot of different between a $40 filter solvent trap silencer and a $200 to $400 silencer.

Dose spending $160 to $360 get you that much more?

Better performance, lifetime warranty in most cases, a finish, mounting options, etc.

In addition to the obvious, trying to see around a 3-4” filter and shoot worth a *******. Real cans are easy to see with and shoot, because they’re designed to be-oil filters aren’t.

Yes. You can't trap solvents with a suppressor.

Typically spending more on a form 1 kit will get you A LOT better materials and quality. This one is a bit more but it's all titanium:

    or something from here:

When I was looking at the Solvent Trap web sites they show the Outer Diameter: 1.358″ or 3.5 cm That is about the same as a silencer.
