Thanks! It was all done with rattle can and tape.

So, I took a piece of wax paper. Then put masking tape on both sides. Then I cut custom shapes from that with an exacto knife / razor blade. Now you'll have shapes. Since you put tape on both sides, each shape gives you two pieces to use.

And yeah it was a little bit of a pain. Did 3 layers of tape, 4 layers of paint.

    Layers in order we're:
    Dark gray
    Black
    Light gray
    Tan

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. Ronald Reagan

Yeah - it was 19.x" folded...BUT I decided to go to the source and had a phone / email convo with "Carey" at MSP Firearms Unit. What I was looking for was something along the lines of "Yes, that exact firearm as it sits, is a pistol since it can fire 1 round in the folded position". What I got instead was a lot of ambiguity, even with providing all the info/pics on the LAW folder. But I did get (in writing) "In Michigan we measure from end of buffer *tube* to end of muzzle threads - remove brace and muzzle device". So since it is still under 26" in that config (and even with brace fully collapsed for an extra fudge factor) - I removed it. I didn't *need* it for anything, it was a strictly a "that's neat" purchase, and I can use it elsewhere. We all know by the AG opinion section dealing with this area, it was a pistol - but I didn't want to chance some incorrect measurement at midnight, on some back road in BFE, so I took it off.

This is an early "Cuban Model" AR10 made in 1957. Tin pot dictators in Central and South America just loved these.

The Cuban Model AR10s had no bayonet lug and no provision for use of a blank fire adapter, unlike all the later AR10 variants.

This one came with its original leather sling but it is not stored with the gun and I am reluctant to handle it.
