    1903 rear sight fix ?

The rear sight on my 1903 has excessive windage movement . Does anyone have a tip of how to snug it up a little without resorting to a rubber band ?

    Thanks , Jack

They had a couple of different rear sites. Please choose one.

Attached to the barrel , knob on the right side for windage adjustment , battle sight for 550 yards , "ladder" for other distance .

Parts to rebuild it or complete replacements are available on eBay.

Your windage screw threads may be worn.

That picture looks like the one on the rifle . When I put that sight and new windage screw in it a while ago there was a very slight amount of left to right movement if you touched it . Now it doesn't take a touch to move it , just recoil . Since I don't adjust this sight , how would it wear ? Out of spec parts to start with ?

    Thanks , Jack

How is the spring behind the windage knob?
