So I've got a Taurus PT145 .45 APC stainless with 4? mags. It has a drop it and it might go off recall. I cocked it and beat it on things and it didn't fire. Taurus only wanted to trade me their cheapest 9mm and I would have had to pay all the shipping and FFL. So I passed.
I've also got a stainless Rossi (Taurus) 972 6.5" .357 that is beautiful with a mirror finish. It has some stupid recall about if you have the trigger pulled while you engage the safety it isn't really safe. Again, they only wanted to replace with short barrel non-stainless cheap junk, and I pay all fees and shipping. I passed on that also.
Can I sell these someday if I want? I'd fully explain the recall to the prospective purchaser. Or do I keep sitting on them as safe queens? I never use them.
And yes, I will NEVER buy another Taurus. They have a lifetime warranty, but it can include replacing with garbage on your dime
Out of my 3 Taurus pistols, I've had 2 nasty recalls.
