not that I know of! If it is older etc, and you have the head stamp, sometimes you can look up the headstamp/date and find out. Mostly for older surplus military ammo.
Boxer primers are usually smaller, if we are talking rifle cartridges. Don’t know about pistol. More recent berdans are available non corrosive.
An interesting side note. Boxer primers were developed in Europe and adopted here. Berdan primers were developed here and adopted in Europe.
