    on head stamp H H 96 or K K 96
    wax coated bullet
    came with small metal disc to cover head and primer

    Bullet diameter, measure with a caliper if possible

    too short to be a brittish 303, I say the case length indicates a 30-40 Krag, which has a case length of 2.31 inches.

    The rim diameter is the kicker, 0.610”.
    I only know of 1 cartridge that used that rim and a quick look showed none built on it in 375 cal and that is the old 450/400 nitro which is also about 0.2” longer.

    There are some web sites out there with a lot of cartridge info.. but the Neck size & bullet size don't jive. .453 neck & .375 bullet, that is saying the brass is .04" thick - that is some damn thick brass. Can you recheck those measurements. Nothing close in any of the charts I found with a .375" bullet diameter. Your bullet diameter might be off, build up on the bullet? Neck Diameter should be right around the crimp anyway.. Maybe 38-70Win? or something like that, close to those measurements.
