    Another Remington barrel code question

I have a beautiful 740. The date code doesn't look right to me. Is this something normal? Or was the person stamping them on crack that morning?

It certainly does look like who ever stamped it on there was drunk. Yet they are valid range. That one was produced in November of 1957.

The 740 was only made 1955 through 1960.

I know about the BLACKPOWDERX and all that. What are you seeing there? I'm reading Hieroglyphic - R - Sideways Bell - 6. So all I was getting out of it is a 6?

Ok, I went back and looked up November 1957, you are probably right. The retarded looking D was killing me. I knew I was asking this in the right place where all you awesome brains would help me! Or at least a better set of eyes than mine

    TYVM for the info!
