    Eyes and Magnification

Getting where I need more than reading glasses for some of the smaller stuff. I see magnifying lamps and head devices. Some with lighting, some without. What do you use ?

    Thanks!

I wear 1.50x for reading a magazine or newspaper. I have a 3.50x for reading head stamps on cases or coin dates. Lots of lighting helps also. Works for me. Good Shooting, MOOSE

I use a head type magnifier, it is a better quality one (can't remember the magnification as it has been a few years since I bought it).

I did go through a few different ones as most have a shorter eye relief so you need the work right up close to you to get a good focus.

I wanted a longer eye relief so I could work more easily at a decent arms length.

I bought mine through the local jeweler (he ordered it as favor to me as my wife bought some jewelry from him).

If you have a "Smart Phone" taking a picture and then magnifying it on your phone screen is often my back up plan when I forget my readers or the lighting isn't great to see details.
Getting the right angle is sometimes easier with the phone camera too.

I wear glasses for every thing. far/distance driving mostly, but I do use 1.50+ for reading. For small things like working on firearms I use jewelers LED Head Magnifier got them off Amazon..
