Absolutely nothing - except in most cases, it's the owner of the gun who needs to be taught safety and common sense.

The problem is there are a number of irresponsible gun owners that don't properly secure their firearms and there have been a small number of senseless tragedies where children have died because of their recklessness.

6/17/2021 INTRODUCED BY SENATOR ROSEMARY BAYER
6/17/2021 REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS
    5/25/2022 DISCHARGE COMMITTEE APPROVED
5/25/2022 PLACED ON ORDER OF GENERAL ORDERS
5/25/2022 REASSIGNED TO COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS

I'm not quite sure what that's all about, but it appears it moved out of the Committee on Government Operations yesterday (after sitting there for almost a year), then looped right back?
