    Glock barrel Gen compatibility?

    Hey MGO brain trust

I've read you can swap between a 40 S&W and 357 Sig barrels on same-Generation Glocks, but can you swap (for instance) a Gen3 40 barrel into a Gen4 357 slide of the same length?

No. Needs to be a gen4 barrel.

Gen 1-3.5 were a single recoil spring assembly.
Gen 4-5 use dthe dual recoil spring assembly
The barrel under lug is cut for different sized recoil spring assemblies.

    Thank you JGrant.

Is the same true for the G20 and 21? I have been thinking of a 10mm or a .45 with a aftermarket lead shooting barrel.

I stalled on a fair deal on a G21 and missed it.

Yes except their are only Gen2-3 single recoil spring large Frame Glocks, Gen 4 and later Dual recoil (not sure when the Gen 5 big glocks drop, not listed yet).

I have no knowledge for the recoil assemblies of the "T" series trainer pistols.

I'm thinking a G21 gen 4 with backstraps to have 2 calibers with an aftermarket barrel and 10mm mags.

I looked at one at Williams and the display was a bit fatter than I would like.

The salesman didn't know what strap was on the gun and the box is stored elsewhere so we couldn't check.

    Thanks for the info.

The guns ship without a backstrap installed. So if was a new gun, probably no backstrap.

Also consider a G41. You can find aftermarke barrels and add mags to make it 45 & 10mm

(minor threadjack, but since it's MY thread.....I'll allow it )

Oh, this is a tasty tidbit......can you please elaborate on what parts would be needed for the G41 45-to-10mm conversion?
