    Help finding a CPL study

Sometime back, I remember reading a study specifically done using Michigan CPL data and comparing crime rates between CPL holders, the general population and the police.

Naturally, now that I want to share it to make a point elsewhere on the internet, I can't find it... I can find some other similar studies but not the one I remember on Michigan. Maybe I'm just mis-remembering? Or maybe someone saved a link to this?

Do you mean the "More Guns, Less Crime" report by Dr. John Lott and his Crime Prevention Research Center?

Essentially, but I thought there was a study specifically with the MI CPL data published by the MSP.
Maybe I am confusing several things together...

I vaguely recall something about the CPL holders of Malcolm Co had less record of crimes then the Detroit PD.
I might be wrong but maybe something like that is what you are looking for.
Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

The only thing I've ever seen from the MSP like that are the annual CPL reports. Those are just a breakdown of data points as opposed to some sort of an academic type study.

And that report doesn't sort out crimes by police.

The only thing I can think of is the FBI crime report.
