Why are they sold LOL Check out any central or northern MI gas station or C-Store. They sell bags of apples, corn, beets, carrots etc. by the thousands.
Selling the item isn't illegal... it depends on how they are used.

There are other places than Michigan a buyer could take one of them, and other uses where they aren’t prohibited-as such retailers don’t care if it’s illegal to use them in a specific manner-they just want the cash from selling them.
