    Pheasant Hunting

How has pheasant hunting been during the main season? I don't have a dog but may want to try the Lapeer State Game area for the late season period. Tall grass and areas near the edge of swamps & wooded areas always used to be good for some jump shooting, especially if railroad tracks provide access. In that scenario, there are always rabbits around.
I don't necessarily want to fork over $200+ just to shoot over a dog. Any thoughts?

Yes they did. A list is available on the DNR website, likely under pheasant hunting. Lapeer was one place that listed planting of about 10 places in all.
