Ammunition prices, Local VS Online, Cabelas?

    Hey Guys,
I’m looking to get more brass cased 5.56/223 FMJ ammo. In the past I’ve always bought online cuz it’s way cheaper then small local gun stores or Dunhams. Right now after tax and shipping it runs between .55-.60 per round online. Im hoping to spend closer to .40-.50 per round.

I’ve been hearing that the prices at the big box sporting good stores like Cabelas aren’t too bad. I’m about 45-55 minutes from Cabelas. Before I make the trek I want to know whether it’s worth it.

So does anyone know what they usually sell brass cased 5.56 for and do they usually have it in stock? Any info would be appreciated.

No, that’s not what I’m looking for. I can look online too. I want a narrative from someone that looks at the ammo shelves preferably for 556 and knows what they usually have. Out of the 30 something different 556/223 rounds listed on the website only 2 met my price range. PMC Bronze & AE 223. How often do people see those on the shelf?

.40-50 cents per round is lower than what my wholesale cost is through distributors, for reference.

Call the store and ask. I haven't bought in person large volume at cabelas lately, but have worked in big box stores. Do the easiest thing first

55.7 cents per round to your door with tax included for IMI M193 from Midway.

Haven't seen anything cheaper in person unless you want to buy Russian steel cased stuff.

Don't think you'll get .40 to .50 unless someone has just a lot of bulk as like GreaseMonkey said we can't even buy it that at wholesale prices.

Can't remember what I paid a few years ago, but this IMI is good ammo.
