    Nikon Slug Hunter Scope Question

I realize the slug hunter scope is designed for shotguns, but I own one and am in need of a scope for a 223 rifle. Could the slug hunter scope work on a low recoil rifle like a 223? Or should i look to trade/sell it? Thank you.

It'll work fine. The main thing the slug hunter series got you was more eye relief for harder kicking shotguns. Pretty sure I've got at least one on a straight walled cartridge upper or a muzzleloader since the drop is similar.

They will take heavy recoil, usually the reticles are different. Thicker crosshairs usually or diamonds or circles.

if the tube diameter is the same as the other scope you would buy, or you already have rings that fit the rifle give it a go. I never had a shot gun scope, I just know do the easiest thing first, so bring two or more guns to the range, so if this is a fail, then there is no loss. You do not even lose the range time. Trying is free.
