Pros/ cons. MOS or Pic rail on slide

I’ve had an itch for years to have a long slide 10mm. Decided to just have one made by Lone Wolf for my G20. I would like to use an optic, and just omit irons all together, but don’t want to commit to a single mounting system for a specific optic. What are your thoughts on going with a Picatinny rail over a Glock MOS mount system? Good idea? Bad idea? I’ve never put an optic on a slide before, and don’t want to make a $300 mistake having a custom slide made.

Gun will be a 6.5” 10mm with a ridiculous brake, set up like race gun but don’t plan to compete with it. Just a woods blaster. I currently have a Sig Romeo 1, but will probably move to something more robust later….I just haven’t decided what yet.

Similar cut as these, but without the dovetail at the back. Straight Pic, or straight MOS.

End result will be along the lines of this monstrosity.

Very nice indeed. I would make it my everyday carry. Whipping it out in a defensive situation would scare the hell out of the bad guy.

Looks like fun! I like the idea of a pic rail for versatility but don’t they make adaptors for slides with optic cuts? That would open up options for different optics while having a more modern set up.
