Hey guys do I need a different weight buffer to run side charger? Runs a few rounds and jams, seems it doesn’t fully seat the bolt

Maybe, but I don't know of a good reason to suspect the side charger unless the SC bolt is a significantly different weight. I have multiple SC guns, all run well or at least do until I start messing with oddball ammo. Same thing happens in traditional rear charge guns.

If this is a new gun contact the manufacturer.

If it's not report back because it could be from many different things causing it and you'll have to troubleshoot them one at a time.

    So what happened ?
was this a home built unit ?
Is it physically obstructed from cycling or is it a gas issue ?

Alignment, obstruction, gas, lots of issues possible.
