Fire + water = hella saw

Kind of long but interesting real life example of safes, fire rating and a saw/can opener.

Oh yes, water damage. I read somewhere, maybe here, that a safe on the first floor over a basement can collapse in a fire and drop your safe into what is essentially a deep pool with the safe on the bottom.

Timing would seem crucial to get the safe out asap.

I never heard them say what brand the safe was. It appears to be one of the China bargain jobs that department stores carry. They are notorious for just using wallboard for 'fireproofing" which appears to the case in the video, plus the board only looked to be 1/2" thick. When I saw two guys tipping it over was another clue. Those guys would have been crushed doing that to my safe.
    Lighten up Francis.
