KEL TEC PMR30 failure to fire

Two range trips ago my two year old PMR 30 went into "failure to fire mode". Took it home cleaned it and next range trip still in " failure to fire mode" Same ammo I have used since I bought it. Any suggestions

The last thing I do when I clean a pistol is drop a pencil (eraser down) in the barrel. Dry fire the gun to see if the firing pin will eject the pencil when pointed straight up.

Check that first to see if the firing pin is functioning. Secondly examine the shells that didn't fire. Are their firing pin dents in the primer????

What ammo are you using? Rimfire is never 100% but I don't typically have ignition issues in my CMR or PMR. More so most failures are failures to cycle.

I have one that I had acquired from my lgs used. After getting it home I did a full teardown to clean. As I tore down the slide, I discovered a broken firing pin. I called KelTec and they sent me two free of charge. This is somewhat of a common issue with them depending on the year built. They now make an "upgraded" one from the original design, which is what they sent me. hth

Generally rimfire guns should never be dry fired. Broken firing pins is a very common result.
