Carrying a rifle in a backpack

Can I carry a rifle in my backpack ( Keltec sub1000 or a broken down AR) while walking down the side of the road or highway and on other public land?

Will a rifle even fit in a backpack? A pistol will, but a rifle?

Yes, a gun owner practicing a constitutional right is extremely scary.

A broken down AR will, depending on the backpack. A KelTec Sub2000 almost fits in a large lunch box.

Super old thread but I have the new kore backpack and you can easily carry a gun in the backpack. Not sure about a rifle though unless broken down enough to fit.

The sub 2000 and new S&W pcc will fold away easily to be packable. Same would apply to the AR pistols with the sideways folding buffer tube.

When I used to camp alot, I carried an AR-7 stowed in it's stock. The longer sight radius made it more ideal than a .22 pistol for shooting squirrels.

I just recently bought a Sub2000 for this reason. Folded it easily fits in a smaller back pack with plenty of room for a few 31 round Glock mags and some ammo.

Is there any reason that set up couldn't be carried in my car trunk???

    Thoughts.????
