I can understand a background check for employees, but why a requirement for a CPL?

Make a requirement that every employee of an FFL have a CPL? Eliminate anyone under 21 from working in a gun store.

It's not a separate background check/print AND have a valid CPL. I think they are saying that, by requiring the CPL, they are fulfilling the requirements of a background check and fingerprints.
Oddly, you only have to be 18 to serve alcohol in Michigan despite the drinking age being 21.
And you can own and/or possess a long gun at 18 (CPL >= 21). For now, I suppose.

All…not or…An employee of a licensed dealer who sells a firearm in the course of the employee's employment must meet all of the following requirements:
(a) Be eligible to possess a firearm under state or federal law.
(b) Hold a concealed pistol license under section 5b.
(c) Comply with all state and federal requirements for the sale and delivery of firearms.
I think (a) is requiring a NICS check, no?

I agree whole heartedly !!!! If you are selling firearms than you should be 21 also .
