Looking to get into a belt fed rifle

Looking at a m249 and/or m240, where is the best place to get something like this?

Or is it best to go through gunbroker?

    Any help would be appreciated

I don't recall them charging sales tax or cc fees

Hearing those numbers and letters together makes my back hurt.
There are good and bad places to get each, but I would try to decide which one you want first. BIG price difference - but I suppose an extra $3-5k is nothing if you're already eyeing dropping $9k+.

You could also try looking up the "minimi" and "maximi" - even though I think both the 5.56 & 7.62 are actually minimi's. Or the mk46/mk48 - my personal choice.

I wouldn't even know where to begin to find one without LE or MIL purchase order capabilities. Even in semi-only versions.

    Watching this thread with interest.

Looking for semi-auto versions of belt fed guns.

Fn makes the m249 and Ohio Ordinance Works make the m240. Just trying to determine the best place to get these.

Anyone who has an account with a distributor like RSR can order one for you. It might take some time, though. Then you just have to bargain with them on the markup on such a high priced gun. Wholesale is around $7900. Personally, if it's not full auto, it's an overweight, overpriced toy that you'll quickly wonder why you bought it.

I agree with the “sounds good on paper” and that you’ll probably regret it after a short time.
But if it’s an itch that you just gotta scratch, by all means do it.
I humped those things around years ago and of all the weapons systems I worked with, the SAW had the most issues.
When it ran, it was awesome. But when you had a malfunction, forget it.
Big Tex Ordnance gets them in periodically and I’ll see when Ike puts one up on his Facebook page. If you’re having problems finding one, I can ask him when he’ll get another shipment in.
Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. Ronald Reagan

Get a mounted gun and don't look back. They are way cheaper and they are a ton of fun. I suggest a 1919. If you really wanna spend some bucks quick get a crank.

Crankfire systems makes the cranks and they are fantastic. They are well made and very simple. It also allows you to fire semi auto as well.
