    What this doesn't address is holding someone harmless if someone breaks into your home and steals your firearm from your night stand drawer or unlocked gun cabinet. Will those circumstances leave you open to prosecution or civil suit? Same question for the other proposed legislation.

    It appears so. The owner of an unlocked nightstand gun is not going to be held harmless.
