    Revolver throats/chambers

I really don’t want to buy a full set of new pin gauges but am getting ready to pull the trigger. Anyone have a set to sell or rent so I can check out my .357, .44 and .45s? Text please for a quicker response. Thanks (734)341-8651

Pick up some round balls or soft lead bullets that are slightly oversized and push them through your throats then measure. Hornady IIRC makes a ball that runs 36 cal that should work

    36 cal wouldn’t be any good for 44 or 45 Ol`Joe?

Use .440 lead balls to gauge 44 magnum and special.

Make sure you oil the bores and balls beforehand

You’re correct. Should have listed all diameters the OP listed.

    I’m getting lazy I guess…

If I had to guess I’d say premade slugs in all the calibers the OP needs and more are available somewhere, Hornady or not-I just wasn’t sure from you post if Hornady was only the source for the 36 or not…. Definitely wasn’t trying to infer anything.

    No harm.
There used to be a couple of cast bullet makers that sold pure lead slugs just for this purpose, Daras, and Penn IIRC were two that have pasted and are no longer around. The OP might try contacting some of the casting companies and see if he can find one that offers these
