    Marlin 336 35 Remington

I am trying to help a friend of mines widow get sell off his guns and she was asking me to help get the value for here. Older Marlin 335 in typical used hunting condition. The serial number starts with Y so from what I read puts it at 1964. Anyone have any guess at this? It is stamped JM also.20221010_204714.jpg20221010_204719.jpg20221010_204732.jpg20221010_204737.jpg

I would estimate it's a solid $700.00 rifle. Maybe $800.00 to some. Ammo is a little pricey
and can be hard to find. Good luck. Good on you for helping her.

"Y" code is indeed 1964, Joe. I would pay around $650 - others might go as high as $800. And as already been stated, ammo is often hard to find.

Thanks for the replies. I Know about ammo being hard to find. I have the same rifle from 1951 and after ammo got scarce and I could finally find it again I picked myself up a lifetime supply.

Is the rear swivel in the "Bullseye"?

It's a real Marlin gold trigger 336 (looks like an RC), with original white stripe grip cap and recoil pad. The "JM" stamp inside a circle actually adds some value most of the time. Unfortunately not here though.

What's the barrel length? If it's a 18" Marauder, Trapper or a Texan the value would go up.

Often hard to find ammo is an understatement - but you've got that covered. $600-$650 is a solid price.

I have a '67 JM 336 35rem. It looks just like yours, sling and all. With. the 100+ rnds of ammo I have, 1k would be my listing price.

Yesterday, Peacemakers in Howell had 4 boxes of 35rem 200 gn @$40 a box. I left it there as I'll probably never shoot the gun. Getting a new ICD pacemaker on the right side opening day.

They are a great deer gun.

No it is not. Does this make a difference?

    Yes, it does to collectors.
