Thanks for the reply Jailer.
A couple that I checked on was a six week turnaround. I thought that seemed kinda long for a somewhat simple job.
I guess I shouldn’t be in any hurry. I do not need the barrel for firearms season. But if it was done, I would take it out.
Thanks again Rootsy.
I agree with you on taking chances shipping.
I don’t have a lot of money in the barrel, and was just thinking of eliminating a caliber, the .270, and keep things a little simpler.
By cutting this barrel down to 16 1/4”, it’ll give me a couple of options.
Thanks again Sparkman.
I’m going to give the thread I posted in the “trades only” section, to see if anyone is interested in the .270 Win. barrel to trade for a 30.06 barrel another week. If that doesn’t happen, I will be heading to West Branch next month, and Saginaw is not that far away.
Update: I sent the barrel to Dick Williams. They responded fairly quickly to my email.
They said one-two week turnaround, and $55-&65 for the job. I talked to a guy on the phone (Dick Williams) that said they might be able to get it done and on it’s way back to me within a week. I might be down in the area to pick it up.
Thanks for the recommendations. Greatly appreciated.
You will be very happy with the work, they're a great shop to deal with.
Thanks for the heads up. As it stands, I will be doing more business with them.
From the day I shipped to Dick Williams, priority, to the day I received the completed barrel was 8 days.
Awesome service
A guy on rimfire central just cut and crown his CZ barrel with a hacksaw and a brass screw, you could always go that route! He hasn't shot it yet to see how bad the accuracy is
