I am a .308 fan boy. If I am hunting up north I use a 308. When I am hunting down here I use a 350 Legend. To me those are my top two favorite cartridges.

    Enfields? I have a few.

I've got my eye on the Uberti Courteney rifle in 303.

Fingered one of those a couple Xs at the local gun shop, but keep thinking it needs to be in something like 275 Rigby, 9x60 or a little 6.5x54 to make me take one home.
Nothing against the British, but I’d rather have traditional American cartridge if going 30cal. Do like the rifle for some odd reason though…

I can't pick just one .270 does a great job, 30-30 has taken plenty of deer, if you can only have one rifle a 30.06 is probably close to the most versatile from coyote to black bear, and for straight wall 44 mag. I have everything except the .270 but My friend swears by it and he brings a deer home every time he goes.

The 30-30 has probably killed more animals than any other caliber in history..

However, the 300 blackout seems to be an ideal caliber for hunting deer.. Flat shooting at Michigan distances for deer and hard enough hitting to kill anything you're going to find here in Michigan along with low recoil.

Just picked up a .450 BM and going to sight it in today. Then Fri/Sat time to test it out.
I miss going up north where the 30-06 reined supreme... Now, just pistols on steroids. A 250gr steroid, but still.
