    Crossbow Reccomendations

Wanting to pick up a used economical crossbow, but have no experience with them. What’s a decent x-bow for someone wanting to get into it on the cheap side? Good brand(s) / model(s).

    TIA

My son has a Center Point, seems to be a great entry level crossbow. Barnett is a good one too, I have a Barnett Whitetail II. Make sure you get a good crossbow target, if you get a cheap one you will regret it.

I purchased my Barnett Quad Edge a few years back. Only regret is wishing I went with something a tad lighter. However, I have no complaints with the Barnett!! Best of hunting!!

X-caliber is a great brand. Made in Canada but excellent bows. They hold their point of aim and their value.

Find a range that sells bows.. try out some and look for trade-ins that they will stand behind.

I have this target and it is fantastic. Stops a bolt from any distance and the arrow pulls out with two fingers! https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/blac...d-point-target

There is a crossbow for sale in the anything else for sale section here.

I went through this about 2 years ago, but the brand recommendations remain the same.
Wife wanted a crossbow instead of her really nice compound. Ended up with a Wicked Ridge Invader X4, mostly because she liked the ACUdraw crank feature instead of a rope and brute force.
I think you can even get a factory refurb version of that xbow for around $300 from Tenpoint.

    Centerpoint
    Killer Instinct

I started with a Barnett. My SIL now has it. Never any problems. I only switched to try a reverse draw crossbow (I like the better balance/not front heavy feel of them)
