    This would make target practice on state land illegal.

    It would make it illegal to “carry” a long gun on land you don’t own, unless hunting. No exception for consent of landowner.

    Unconstitutional! It does not restrict where they can be carried in this statement!

    Sec. 6.
    Every person has a right to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and the state.

    They already restrict carrying handguns, extending that would be a constitutional violation.

    This right here.

    90% of my shooting is done on state land. I do not hunt. Forcing people to buy land, buy a membership to a private range, or be forced to one of the distant few DNR ranges has to violate another law on top of what’s written in the US and State constitutions.
