Michigan has no statewide animal registration program to monitor the number and location of the captive apes within the state or to ensure that those animals are imported, possessed, or transferred with the required federal permits. As a result, it is difficult to gage the actual number of apes that currently reside in the state, whether legally or not.
Sure looks like a gorilla to me. You can see the top of his head between the two trees. That ain't no bear.

The only things we can be certain of is that it is in Berrien County and that it is a quadruped, after that it is all guesses.
It is a dire wolf!
It is a Chupacabra.
Black Bear have been documented on the west side, as far south as the Indiana border.
It is an escapee from Illinois.
It is a "liberal" in its natural environment.
