With a thread title like this, I expected some content...
This explains it much better than I can:
Holosun 508t Vs RMR [Which Is The Best Optic For You?]

That was one person's opinion. I expected the OP to have personal experiences after reading the title. The reviewer forgot one important category "Was It Made In China".
PS--I did agree with him about battery replacement.
I’ve been running a few full size holosuns for years now, and have been impressed. I am VERY interested in their Vulcan reticle, especially for pistol applications.
That's because I haven't actually used it yet. However, if you just compare the specs and the features the Holosun is truly more advanced over the original Trijicon RMR dsign. I started with the RMR that used the so-called fiber optic element on the top to gather daylight or the Tritium illumination. The sight was almost useless indoors looking out into the daylight. The tritium illumination was so weak, in order to see it your environment had to be so dark you couldn't identify your target. The sight picture on the Holosun is brighter, clearer and the reticle is beautiful. It's bright, bold and un-distorted, almost as good as an illuminated etched reticle found in some other sights.
When Trijicon finally added a button battery and an LED to illuminate the sight they had very poor battery contacts that caused frequent intermittent continuity making the illumination flicker or completely black out. They finally changed the design and added a few bent metal barbs to dig into the battery in order to make better contact. However they left the battery compartment completely and totally open to the elements, dirt, water, oil, etc! This caused so many problems they now sell a third part "seal plate" as a workaround. They don't even included it even though it's to correct their poor design.
The Trijicon RMR sight has to be completely removed from the weapon with two small screws just to change the battery! Imagine doing that in combat conditions, darkness, bad weather etc! The tint on the Trijicon RMR is excessively dark.

Well, I have both RMR 3.25 on my factory slide milled by ATEI. Just got this week. Thanks, ATEi. Shot it yesterday, and the Glass is great. Now, I also have another slide with Holoson 507x2 (I've posted it on here). Shot with it, and I have to say they are neck and neck with each other for glass and one thing RMR doesn't have is the solar backup lighting. As for the price point, if someone wants a great Dot on their EDC and don't have RMR cash, Holoson 507 or 508 will do you right.

Which RMR do you have? Trijicon RMR® Type 2 LED Reflex Sight, RMR® Type 2 Adjustable LED Reflex Sight, RMR® Dual-Illuminated Reflex Sight? It's the Dual-Illuminated one that really sucks!
Below are a few examples of the RMR's issues:
This is a review of the Dual Illuminated RMR. My least favorite out off all the models.

That would have been my pick if I had to do it over again. I had the dual illumination model. The open unsealed battery compartment on the LED model still bothers me. That and having to remove the site from the mount or gun to change the battery. They must work ok, they sell tons of them.
