It sounds like they don't want to do nfa business. There is no statute that says this has to be done.

Yes there is, and this can be done with firearms too. There is a process a FFL can have 4473s completed without the individual present, get approval from a local LE, then ship directly to that person if they reside in the same state if they are NICS exempt, which NFA items are. This can't be done in Michigan anymore with CPLs, but perhaps could be with LTPs.

Otherwise silencers just like any other firearms, the individual needs to be at the FFL's premises to take possession.

The post I quoted didn't really sound like home shipped since silencer central is in South Dakota. Do they do ltp for silencers? I haven't done an ltp in a long time and doesn't the seller need to fill it out?

My Form 4's are all over the place.
Submitted a B&T APC45SD SBR (two stamper) at the same time. SBR was approved in 3 days, the can still waiting. Again, literally submitted at the same time.
Have a Sig can that I'm almost on month 2 for.
Maybe SBR's are getting approved faster? Not sure. All are individual.

A silencer is not a firearm per Michigan law, no LTP or sales record needed.

They require a Fed/ATF 4473 though, and a NICS check by the FFL/SOT to be released into your hot hands though.

I've heard that individual applicants are going through in record time, some even immediately. However, when utilizing an NFA trust, I heard it's still around 3-6 mos. Is this your experience as well?
