Professional Gun Stock Repair referral please?

I’m looking for a professional gunsmith who specializes in stock repair. I have a unique antique rifle with hairline cracks in walnut stock. Im looking for museum quality restoration repairs. Any suggestions appreciated.

D&D in Clawson. They did a very similar repair on a M1 Garand. Can't even tell it was ever cracked now.

You want museum quality repairs? If you're getting quotes that come in less than a grand or two - move on. Can a decent smith throw some epoxy in and clean it up for you to look really really nice? Sure, but it won't be anywhere near museum quality. I don't know of anyone around here (MI) that does that type of maestro level artistry. And that's not a dig at any of the insanely talented gunsmiths within Michigan by any means.

Would help to know more about the rifle. Make, model, manufacture date, etc.
Might not be worth the money to really go the "museum quality" route.

Just as an example from a few years ago: I had a friend (might as well be a brother) take his handed down heirloom pre-64 Winchester 94 for a specialist insurance appraisal (this was a 3 digit 94 actually made in the first few months of the 1894 runs) which turned out to be worth 1,500 and insured for 2,500 maybe stretch to 3,000 as-is recommendation due to the "poor" condition rating - I mean it was a used original not abused, but poor??? Yep. He recommended spending about $3,500-$4,000 to have it properly restored to original (museum) quality condition (90%+ very good collector grade) and then he'd easily add another zero to the value and probably a few thousand more because of the 32-40 black powder match grade chambering. Long story short - it's now insurance appraised, valued and policy written for $20k.

Just my opinion, which isn't worth much. It's your money and your rifle.
