    Greetings & cpl suggestions

    Greetings everyone.

Just moved here recently from South Carolina. Found the mention of this site on another online forum.

As I just moved here I will need to take the state course for cpl/cwp. I am located in the Kalamazoo area. Any suggestions on groups that do the course over the weekend? I would also like to do a program that also offers an Arizona cpl.
    Thanks!

    Welcome!

I would mosey on over to the other forums and look around for training recommendations, quirky MI specific CPL process and law stickies - And ask your questions there if they aren't already answered.
Why on earth would you also want to do an AZ CPL? It's a reciprocal state that recognizes a MI CPL.
Actually, better yet...ask your Arizona questions in those other forums - they'll get more views and responses.

The addition of an out of State permit would exempt one from the requirements of MCL 28.422.

I'm not going to do the whole questionable "no RI60 with one" dance here.
You still can't carry on an out of state non-resident CPL while being a MI resident.

Who said anything about carrying on an out of state non-resident CPL? The only reason that thousands of us have applied for and received our out of state permits is to meet the 28.432 exemption (from 28.422 "registration" requirements) provision.

In order to be exempt, you only need an out of state non-resident CPL...but, you cannot carry concealed in Michigan with that alone...in order to carry concealed in Michigan (as a Michigan resident), you need a Michigan CPL.

For as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom — for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

It's not a dance - it's the only interpretation we have ATM on a poorly written bill that became statutory law.
