"(c) For 40 days before an election, possess a firearm within 100 feet from any absent voter ballot drop box."

    4 Elections a year = 160 days a year
They can put an "absent voter ballot drop box" anywhere they want to create a no gun zone.

But with all the people that have been shot while trying to vote, we NEED this law.

Oh wait...... nobody has been shot trying to vote yet.

Well.... we NEED this law anyway, someone COULD get shot someday maybe if we don't have it.
With the law, no one will EVER get shot trying to vote because the people that shoot other people always obey the law.

Don't forget about those rolling Zuckerbus voting machines / absentee ballot harvesting vehicles...and the use of SMART and other Michigan public transport specifically used to pick up voters with their ballots.

    How would that work?

This one just passed in the house. They sure don't make it easy to read these. I am probably wrong, but it seems as CPL holders are exempt?

    4) Subsection (3) does not apply to any of the following:
    (a) A peace officer acting in the course of the officer'
    duties.
    (b) A person who possesses a firearm in that person's
residence or on that person's private property.
    (c) A person carrying a concealed pistol if that person is
licensed by this state or another state to carry a concealed
    pistol.

Yes, a valid CPL exempts you.

    (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to any of the following:
    (a) A person who owns, or is employed by or contracted by, an entity described in subsection (1) if the possession of that firearm is to provide security services for that entity.
    (b) A peace officer.
    (c) A person licensed by this state or another state to carry a concealed weapon.
    (d) A person who possesses a firearm on the premises of an entity described in subsection (1) if that possession is with the permission of the owner or an agent of the owner of that entity.
You already covered (4), which exempts CPL holders from the 100 foot and 40 day BS added in subsection (3) by this HB.
"(3) Except as provided in subsection (4), a person shall not do any of the following:"

Yes, while carrying a concealed pistol.

However, HB 4138 also passed the house, which prohibits firearms within 100 feet of a location where absentee ballots are being counted, which includes most polling places throughout election day, and includes no exceptions for CPL holders.

    Edit: It's actually HB 4128
