Springfield XDM 10mm Interchangeability

Does anyone know if the newer 10mm XDM slide assemblies would fit on my old 5.25 model? I've read that slides will interchange with same generation models, but I don't know if the frames have changed over the years. I think it would be neat to pick up a compact or shorter optic ready model to mix and match.

The only problems I know of are 45 to 40, or 45 to 9.

As long as one isn't the Elite (ambi safety) swap away if you've got the slide. They made them that way.
