Man, I feel sorry for new CPL application in Wayne Co.

A friend took his class and went to make an appointment for his CPL application, and he can't even get one as their online appointment system is booked all of May.

This is sad. You can't even make an appointment for June. Back to the old ways again.

Definitely seem to be getting back to the way they were.
In-laws had 5 appointments between them and their children. Two have been waiting since thanksgiving - both of them showed up for their appointment and were told the system was down, re-scheduled more than 90-days out once already. And two others haven't been able to schedule an appointment since February - the online system is jacked up.
The only one to actually get through the appointment, had to get printed off-site (clerk's LiveScan blah blah), paid for everything, and is now carrying with the receipt (the ID was due in March - the 45 day wait).

While my youngest nephew lives in Washtenaw and was able to walk-in to the clerk in ANN ARBOR, grab an "appointment" that was a 20 minute wait, get LiveScan printed, pay, and ID showed up 10 days later. He did say he just stood there waiting for his appointment, and only one person walked in for a marriage license, for the entire time he waited - while the staff cackled and sat on their asses gossiping.

It is just mind boggling.

Never updated my address.
It was getting close to renewal time.
Didn't get a letter.
Went to Oakland Co. website.
Sent a message requesting a letter to get a pin #.
Responded right away.
Did an online renewal.
Got the card back in 2-3 weeks.
Not sure what hoops new CPL people have to go through.

It's nuts, they closed Henry Ruff location and now all new first time CPL apps have to go down to Monrow street location. They are not in the city county building any longer. Getting appointment is nuts too.

This was my exact experience about 15 years ago. I thought it was going to be a huge pain in the rear.

Sounds like a quick change of address to another county is in order. The best turn around time I had was in Port Huron. No appointment. Show up at the office. Do the paperwork. Next day I had the new CPL in the mailbox.

I then, moved to New Hampshire. You do not need a CPL there. But, I got one anyway. Cost $12 and took two weeks. I moved back here to Milford. 3 months after my Mi CPL expired. Called Port Huron and asked for a new letter for my PIN. They took care of it and sent the letter. I don't recall how fast Livingston took to get the CPL. But, it wasn't long.

A nice legal battle with Wayne county is in order I think. These people are doing whatever they want. Not like whitmer will stand in the way.
